US President George W. Bush addresses the hard work and dedication of troops on board Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) New Orleans. President Bush thanked service members and their families for their efforts to rebuild the hurricane affected areas to their "original greatness." President Bush and the first lady are meeting with top ranking military officials at NAS JRB New Orleans to receive briefs on Joint Task Force (JTF) Katrina relief efforts. The Navy's active participation in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense (DoD).
